About me...
Well, I've been in this area my whole life.  I grew up in Pewee Valley, went to Oldham County High School (Go Colonels!) and graduated from Spalding University (I majored in communications, minored in theatre....now there was money well-spent....).  I've been at QMF for--sheesh!-- 18 years now.  (Of course I started at the tender age of 9...oh, shut up!)  Seriously, I've loved every minute of it & consider the QMF guys family.  Family I don't necessarily want in my home, but family nonetheless....I am happily married to Ron Fisher, with whom I do "The Saturday Morning Crew", yes, Saturday mornings on 84-WHAS.  (Which basically means I get to boss him around at home AND work!).  Our "child" is an 8-year old Bichon Frise named Angel, who is such a little princess she even has her own webpage (see below)!  I like to travel, love Eric Clapton, loathe reality TV and collect pigs.  Seriously, I literally have hundreds.  No, really.  You can also catch me mornings on 97.5 WAMZ with Bobby Jack Murphy from 5a-9a...what can I say?  I like to be well-rounded!

This is my baby, Angel.  She's a girly-girl & a diva, therefore must have her own webpage!  If you're looking for a new pet, check out Angel's buddies at www.kyhumane.org.  Or check out her FAVORITE website, by clicking HERE !

To raise money for the local affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, we had a "PINK DAY" here in the building.  This was a "non-partisan" charity event, so I'm gonna show everyone involved!

Now THAT'S a fan!  Take a look at some of my favorite rock tattoos:

AC/DC SHOWS ADDED!
AC/DC has extended its Black Ice tour of North America into early 2009. New dates begin December 20 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and run through January 31 in Nashville.

Tickets go on sale Saturday. Eighteen previously announced shows have already sold out, according to the band's label, Columbia.

The tour is in support of a new album of the same name, due October 21 exclusively via Wal-Mart and Sam's Club stores and AC/DC's Web site.

"Black Ice" won't be the only AC/DC title available exclusively at Wal-Mart. In November, the retailer will be the only U.S. source for "AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack," a special edition of the popular video game devoted to the veteran Australian band. In December, the game will be available through multiple retailers in Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

"AC/DC Live" includes 18 songs from the band's DVD "Live at Donnington." This will be the first "Rock Band" version focused on one group.

As some of you may know, I will be celebrating 3 years as a breast cancer survivor this October. I can't begin to thank everyone for your support during this time. Many of you have probably been touched by the disease as well, either through a family member, friend or your own personal battle.

My husband, Ron, and I have once again accepted the challenge to raise funds to support the Komen Louisville Race for the Cure® on October 11, 2008 in the fight against breast cancer and would be very grateful if you could pledge a donation to help us in this endeavor. Or you can join Team Ron & Mel if you'd like to participate in the actual race/walk.

75% of your support of our participation in the Louisville Affiliate of Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure will fund vital breast cancer education, screening, and treatment programs in local and surrounding communities, and 25% will fund national research for the cure.

*Your generous donation is tax-deductible!*

Click here to visit the Team Ron & Mel page and pledge your support.

Thank you so much for your time and your support in the fight against breast cancer.

I TRULY APPRECIATE IT!

Sincerely,

Mel

This time of year a lot of places celebrate Oktoberfest.  You'd think the U.S. would rank fairly high in the Top 20 countries in beer consumption... According to a recent study (who studies these things?!) the U.S. doesn't hold a candle to some other countries.  Can you guess who's #1?  Click on Cuddly Beer Guy below to find out!
